Tewksbury Select Board Fills Two Housing Authority Seats, Approves Foreclosure Sale
TEWKSBURY — May 19, 2026 — Tewksbury Select Board adopts Open Meeting Law complaint policy and fills two Housing Authority vacancies. The board voted 4-0 with one abstention to approve the new policy, which requires any complaint to be immediately forwarded to town counsel without waiting for the next scheduled meeting — a response to at least one recent instance in which the statutory 10-day response window was missed. Vice Chair Mark Kratman called it long overdue: "We should have had this policy in place a while ago." The board also unanimously appointed Renee Whitmire-Finnerty to the Housing Authority tenant seat, and approved James T. Sullivan — a Vietnam-era veteran and former Zoning Board member — to the at-large elected vacancy by a 4-0-1 vote, filling a seat that runs to approximately April 2030. In a separate 5-0 vote, the board authorized the sale of a tax-title foreclosed property at 148 Rogers Street with roughly $40,000 in back taxes owed, after efforts to contact the owners since 2019 proved unsuccessful.
