Town Opens Poll Worker Recruitment for 2026 State Primary and Election

TEWKSBURY — The town is calling on residents to serve as election poll workers for the 2026 state races, even as Town Hall prepares to close this Friday for Juneteenth — with a community market at Livingston Street Park landing squarely in between on Thursday.

TOWN HALL

The town posted a call for poll workers Tuesday, seeking volunteers to staff the 2026 State Primary and State Election. Serving as a poll worker is a paid civic role that is essential to running local and state elections; residents interested in signing up can visit the town's civic alerts page for details (https://www.tewksbury-ma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=1123).

Town Hall will be closed this Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Residents needing to conduct town business should plan accordingly — the next regular business hours begin Monday morning.

The town also announced a Household Hazardous Waste Day, giving residents a chance to dispose of materials that cannot go out with regular trash. Additional details are posted on the town's website (https://www.tewksbury-ma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=1121).

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Tewksbury Community Market comes back Thursday, June 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Livingston Street Park, 288 Livingston Street, behind the Recreation Center. Vendors will include food trucks, farm stands, sweets sellers, and crafters — a good mid-week outing as the first full week of summer gets going.
